What we do

Too much great fiction is overlooked by mainstream publishers for commercial or political reasons that have nothing to do with literature. At Bookmason House we aim to restore that imbalance by embracing the best of upmarket fiction: tight, gripping plots and relatable characters embedded in stories that reflect the world around us in all its beauty, ugliness, and complexity.

Based in Vancouver, Canada, we support local authors but are excited to expand our horizons. In the near future we also aim to enrich our catalog with translation of voices that speak to—and of—our common human experience. We never charge our authors any fees to publish. Together with advances, we offer higher-than-standard royalties together with that personal touch that has disappeared from the book “industry.”
